Casper came to us from Kim Shira and Leo Eickhoff of Coedwig Cardigan Welsh Corgis. From a litter of nine beautiful puppies there emerged one that stood out. Casper is from a merle to merle breeding, from which a rare double merle can occur. He is predominately white with small patches of clear blue and black. He has the perfect black and blue saddle for the fairies to ride.Our rally instructor tells me they are his angel wings!

Casper has full sight and the majority of his hearing. Double merles can be deaf and or blind due to the lack of pigmentation that can occur in the scillia of their ears and retinas of their eyes. This is not a hereditary defect, it is purely due to lack of pigmentation and cannot be passed on.

Kim and Leo were searching for a special home for their beautiful boy and we were blessed to have been chosen. I think I pick out a puppy from every litter I see, the one that I would take home if I could, and Casper was my choice from the day he was born.

We noticed right away his love for people and his drive for pleasing his humans. Almost immediately I decided to train him to be a therapy dog. I found an instructor that allowed us to complete the Delta Pet Partners class at the age of six months which we passed with flying colors. While waiting to become officially registered as a team we began agility and rally classes.

Casper received his Rally Excellent title in less than six months! Most recently he acquired his 4th and 5th consecutive double Q's for his RAE title. Only 5 more double Q's to go!

We've also started our volunteer work at St. Francis Hospital!
